Montreal DJ’s Anstascia and Vivie-Ann have established their love child globally proving that they don’t fit the quintessential blonde stereotype. Fuelled by their fierce gig schedule and releases on some of the most notable labels around, Blond:ish has undoubtedly made their mark in the EDM scene. The duo’s sharp taste-maker instincts and technical flair has not only charmed the industry masses but garnered them a loyal following in over 40 countries.

Blond:ish’s innovative and quirky reputation wasn’t grown on a tree but materialized in the dark trenches of Cherry nightclub in Montreal. Anyone that has attended their parties can attest that there is something very special about this underground midweek mangle. It’s the winning formula of diverse freaks, organized chaos and Blond:ish’s genre defying sets that has them still holding their monthly residency since 2008.

Over the last few years, Blond:ish has carved out a unique production recipe. Provocative basslines contrasted with smooth textures and sticky vocals that blend into a genre of house that rebels against being pigeonholed to any specific category.

Their recent move to London has enabled them to keep up with a steady release schedule with many more concoctions in the works. Forthcoming 2012 releases include a psychedelic inspired 3 track LOVERS IN LIMBO EP out on KOMPAKT mid April and their original “Lonely Days” out on NOIR MUSIC’S sub-label NM2 in the spring as well as a remix of Senna & Zohdy’s – “All In Vain” out on Two Birds Jan 25th. Some of last years releases include “Dack Janiels” out on Monique Musique,“Truth in Me ft. Ted Alexander” on NOIR Music’s Second Chances & New Romances Vol. 3 VA.

This duo rides off each other’s hefty musical knowledge and flawless technique with their diverse persona’s only adding to the intrigue. Anstascia’s unruly demeanor and creative spark spirals against Vivie-Ann’s scientific and geek-chic flair in a whirlwind of inspiration and contrast. The result is a force to be reckoned with, a vibe that effortlessly transcends in the studio, behind the booth and more than anything, to the dance floor.

Blond:ish performs at See Sound Lounge, Feb 4th, 2012 with Stereo Medics and Lush Life deejay Kutt.

Peter Kriek and Ariaan Olieroock had been making music on their own for some time before joining forces and becoming 16 Bit Lolitas in 2003. This collaboration quickly produced a wave of releases. Tracks such as The Puppet Show, Destiny, My Lexicon, Stereo Control and the epic Sednaa quickly followed on labels as diverse as Yoshitoshi, Alternative Route , Release, Sadie, Plastic Fantastic, Nu Republic, Armada, Minimal, DK and LMR. They then decided to keep control of most of their material starting their own successful imprint “Bits & Pieces” shooting off club hit after hit. A hectic few years has propelled the boys into the spotlight where their crisp creations have carved out a sound that is both cool and sophisticated. It embraces all that is good about House music.

Peter and Ariaan consistently turn in tight productions that stand out in a crowded market place. Each piece of electronic music is patiently crafted and produced with emotion and care. It’s music that creates atmospheres as well as delivering a killer blow without the need of resorting to overused and obvious gimmicks.

At the end of 2008 the 16 Bit Lolitas released their first ultimate collection of music when they launched the “Live At Warung” mix album series, from Brazil’s ultimate Beach Club on Hope Recordings/Bits and Pieces. It featured upfront underground sounds, handpicked from across the globe to add a shimmer but also featured a large proportion (in fact one whole disc) of their own unreleased material. Why? Well speak to Ariaan about his DJ sets and he’ll tell you that they often write material just for this purpose, more than able to nail the mood required in the studio and then put their money where their mouth is at the club. Many DJs will play some of their own productions but not whole sets of it.

Ariaan Olieroock performs at See Sound Lounge, January 28th, 2012 with Johnny Monsoon, Simon Houser & Spam I Am

DJ Miss Nine has been a major presence on the dance scene for quite some years now. With her eclectic taste in music, ranging from energetic grooves with plenty of vocals to a deeper, progressive sound, Miss Nine turns heads and moves feet wherever she performs.

Miss Nine was born in Germany as Kristin Schrot and at the age of 16, she started her career – not as a DJ, but as a model. Shortly thereafter, she secured a worldwide contract with Elite Model Management. After moving to Amsterdam, she discovered the art of DJ’ing and her passion for music eventually led her become a DJ as well. In 2003, only a few months after touching the decks for the first time, she became a resident DJ at the legendary Motion parties where she evolved as an artist and DJ while playing alongside masters such as John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, and James Zabiela.

2003 was also the year that Miss Nine took to the decks as the youngest artist at the 10th edition of Dance Valley (renowned Dutch Dance Festival). At the end of 2005, Miss Nine was then asked by Grammy Award winning DJ duo, Deep Dish to join Bullitt Bookings, the reputable agency of A-list DJs. This allowed Miss Nine to enter the forefront of the international DJ scene for the first time.

In 2008, Miss Nine started her own record label called 925 Digital. Having spent so much time in the dance scene, she realized that there were too many excellent progressive-house tracks that didn’t get the release and the attention that they deserved. 925 Digital was created in order to ensure that this didn’t happen and bring progressive house, and the artists behind it, to prominence.

Miss Nine performs all around the globe, spinning at clubs such as Privilege in Ibiza, Avalon in Los Angeles, Warung in Brazil, the Ministry of Sound in London and several Pacha’s around the world. She has also graced the main stage of the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, joining a line-up of, among others, Tiësto and David Guetta.

Miss Nine was the first female DJ to mix a compilation for Washington-based Yoshitoshi Recordings, the world-renowned leader in progressive and big-room house music. The highly anticipated Yoshitoshi Ibiza: Mixed by Miss Nine (YRCDLP15) was released in September 2006 and made it to the number 1 spot on iTunes in the United States. In June of 2008 Miss Nine also released an album on the world famous Armada label: Dancefloor Sessions (ARMA134). Her latest release was in 2010: Fantasia, which is available for purchase in Asia.

Nine Sessions is Miss Nine’s monthly radio show which is broadcasted in more than 35 countries, including DI.fm, Proton, Frisky and Dance Paradise. Since January 2011, Nine Sessions is also available as a podcast on iTunes. During this one-hour show, Miss Nine shares her favorite tracks of the moment with her listeners.

In 2010, Miss Nine became the ambassador of the revolutionary Levi’s® Curve ID line. To draw even more attention to this new line, she mixed the compilation album Levi’s® Curve ID. In addition to spinning at numerous events, which are actively being promoted in Europe and Asia, Miss Nine also hosted Levi’s® presents Miss Nine in the supperclub during the Amsterdam Dance Event in October of 2010.

Miss Nine is also now the face of Pioneer for their new Pioneer 350 series, turntables that are meant for amateur DJs. As part of a European-wide promotional campaign, video clips in which Miss Nine is demonstrating these turntables are being televised on MTV.

The last 18 months have been a whirlwind of success for up-and-coming Artist Anthony Attalla. During this timeframe not only has he shown personal growth in the studio as a producer and on stage as a performer, but he has also demonstrated his passion for the business side of the industry by creating a platform to catapult talent through Incorrect Music, his music production-company, and latest endeavor.
As an artist, Anthony has charted 27 Top 100 tracks – including 11 Top 100 in a row – on Beatport.com, the widely popular outlet for purchasing EDM (Electronic Dance Music). In addition, the demand for his live performance has grown to an all-time high with continuous touring throughout the United States, as well as international bookings in Europe, Ibiza, Mexico, Asia, and Canada to name a few.

Anthony has illustrated his advocacy of the EDM business world by launching, Incorrect Music. Now surpassing its one-year anniversary, Incorrect Music has experienced success at an alarming pace. The label’s achievements during its inaugural year include, having tracks played and charted by some of the industries’ biggest taste-makers, boasting over 35 Top 100 tracks (in only 18 months) on various Beatport Charts, and spreading its wings globally with artists from more than 20 different countries making up its impressive roster.

With Anthony’s multi-faceted approach to an increasingly demanding industry, he illustrates his ability to evolve and achieve as he continues to make his mark on the international dance scene.

Detroit based Techno/House label Incorrect Music was founded by Anthony Attalla in September of 2009. The idea, however, was cultivated in the winter of 2008 during a special and lengthy studio session when he found himself with a collection of tracks and an exceptionally unique sound that needed a home. Instead of choosing the beaten path, Anthony decided to create an entity with a mantra that reciprocated why he had began making music in the first place. From this idea spawned what is now Incorrect Music. As Incorrect Music approaches its two-year anniversary, the label continues to reach new heights with steadfast and consistent growth, both in the United States and global markets. Boasting production by some of the top Techno and House artists from around the world, Incorrect is home to artists from more than 20 countries. Creating a seamless harmony between dark underground tech and soulful house vibes, Incorrect prides itself on not complying with the ever-popular “niche” business model and focuses solely on releasing great music. Perpetually evolving… Tastefully trend-setting…

Confident. Exuberant. Raw. Innovative. These are just a few of the words industry insiders and fans have used to describe the talent behind one of America’s favorite house DJs, Donald Glaude. Ranked #68 on DJMag.com’s Top 100 DJs List in 2005, Donald skyrocketed to #48 this year and his genius keeps on growing…

Born in Tacoma, Washington, Donald’s love for music began at an early age. Originally a disciplined student of classical music, he was well-versed in the upright bass and violin. Any aspirations Donald had to continue in the classical vein vanished once he heard his first house record. With an ear for blending music already under his belt, and a love for the energy and soul of musical prodigies like George Clinton and Funkadelic, Donald began to amass a collection of house records which he taught himself to mix with a pair of mismatched turntables and a Radio Shack mixer.

Before Donald few DJs had attempted to spin house records. Donald’s fine ear helped him give birth to a new style. After mastering his craft, Donald began DJing in various clubs around Tacoma and Seattle. During that time he made several important connections which would launch his music to the forefront of what was quickly becoming one of the largest underground movements since New Wave in the late-70s. Perhaps the greatest connection Donald made was with another aspiring DJ and friend, DJ Dan.

Together Donald & DJ Dan sparked the rave scene in Seattle and developed large followings. Knowing that Donald possessed an energy and ability to work the crowd that was unparalleled to anyone else on the circuit, Dan convinced San Francisco’s legendary Funky Tekno Tribe to bring down his good friend Donald to play at one of their parties. Donald’s talents quickly made him a permanent fixture on F.T.T.’s roster.

Some DJs seek commercial acceptance. Donald, on the other hand, has always preferred an emotional connection with his audience. For Donald, house music is not simply a mixed bag of sound, but rather an experience that provokes the soul. Apart from his mastery on the decks, Donald is best known for his dynamic showmanship. He enjoys his music as much as his audience does. Embracing their energy, it is not uncommon to find Donald pumping his hands in the air, jumping up and down and shouting back his love to the crowd. It is this powerful signature style which has led fellow DJ and musical producer, Dave Aude, to call Donald the “James Brown of DJs.” Donald also caused some stir in 2005 and 2006 with his residency at ICE Nightclub in Las Vegas.

Donald’s uncompromising style and innovation show no sign of slowing down any time soon. With the credit of 5 full-length CDs and numerous remixes under his belt, Donald has focused much of his time to production work. Producing such dance floor hits as “Get Up” and “Soul Cha Cha”. As such, Donald has launched two record labels in which are causing rumblings in the industry. Eden Recordings, started with fellow DJ Rick V, and Durty Records, a collaboration with good friend Vince Lombardi.

Donald’s 2005 release, “This is Me” (Moist Music), is a 35-track double CD that defines his creativity, sound and vibrant style. Since its release, Donald’s fans have been eager to hear what’s next from their favorite DJ. Fans will be pleased to know that Donald’s hard at work on another double CD, “For the People” (Moist Music), a live recording and original tracks produced by Donald himself. With the completion of this latest project, the world should be prepared to experience all sides of Donald Glaude: DJ. Producer. ARTIST.

Continuing to be “The Hardest Working American Dj” Donald has many new projects planned for this upcoming year. He has a tour scheduled with “America’s Most Beloved Dj” Dj Dan and he also has another new CD releasing in 2007. Also expect new release from both of his labels Eden Recordings and Durty Records. You have seen him use his musical talents from bring his experience in playing bass, percussion, violin and then moving on to the turntable just show us his grasp on music. To mastering the turntable and then on to recently turned Serato user always expect the unexpected when you come see Donald Glaude………

Demi has been lighting up dancefloors worldwide for the better part of the last decade. Whether he’s performing at the biggest global festivals, playing alongside some of the planet’s most influential DJs, holding residencies in some of the most iconic venues or headlining marathon sets deep in the caverns of the underground and globetrotting with fellow rogue sonic warriorS Omid 16B & Desyn Masiello under their SOS guise; the desire to create a positively sonic experience has kept his fire burning more than any award, nomination or adulation that has come his way.

The recent years in the rollercoaster journey of this contagiously exuberant talent have extended his deserved merits beyond the clubs by a medium closely connected to his craft. A Radio One Essential Mix in 2006 (the only 3 hour studio recording in its history) that sent positive shockwaves to the music industry, followed by two landmark compilation releases (Balance 013 (2008) & Ministry of Sound – The Club (2010)) with the SOS project he continues to involve himself with; Three definitive and timeless captions forever etched in its mark on dance music’s legacy, demonstrating musical synergy at its force, and which continues to set a benchmark for the current wave.

His more recent solo compilation, “Sounds like Alola – Volume 2″ (2011) (a pioneering deep house label formed in the early 90′s by his SOS compadre Omid 16b) has seen Demi absorb himself into a project totally in sync with his philosophy to the true art and craft of the DJ and its incredible opportunity to elevate the spirits. It is a true testament to Demi, who provides a sensational compilation in response to Omid’s confidence. Piecing the past, present and future together with a hotbed of sonic wealth from the ALola back catalogue, the world finally sees a true glimpse of Demi’s demented approach to how he weaves his way through the sonic spectrum. His vibrant personality is infectious and his live performances are equally exhilarating. With the ease of someone seemingly born to perform, his ear for the right frequency of the moment and combinations have carved out a niche in the house scene he can truly call his own. In the spirit of his early mentor Danny Tenaglia, a true DJ’s DJ.

At present, Demi is channelling all his love and devotion towards the recordings of a debut album for a sonic assault on the masses,as well as future collaborations and guilty pleasures. The studio output has been a slow and deliberate process of developing and evolving both a technique and vision to manifest his demented mind and soul. There is also the small matter of an SOS artist album which has had a collection of sketches and sonic experimentations amassed already over the years and continues to evolve in the highest possible manner.

Sponsored and armed by industry giant such as Pioneer and Native Instruments, Demi’s journey continues to give what you need, not what you expect.
